The Biden-Harris Administration’s Student Debt Relief Plan

President Biden & Vice President Harris created a plan to help people re-pay their student loans. This three-part plan includes loan forgiveness of up to $20,000 for those who qualify. To learn more about the program/be notified when the process has officially opened go to

studentaid.gov and sign up at the Department of Education subscription page.

You have until Dec. 31, 2023 to apply.

Student loan servicers are like bill collectors assigned by the Department of Education to collect and track your monthly payments. However, they will also assist assessing eligibility for:

  • Deferment
  • Forbearance
  • Income-driven repayment options; and
  • Student loan forgiveness programs.
